Allen die door mijn Myanmar afbeeldingen meer geïnteresseerd zijn geraakt in dit land. In NRC Handelsblad van zaterdag 19 maart staat een uitgebreid interview met de voormalige Nobel prijs winnares Aung San Suu Kyi. Ik beveel dit van harte aan omdat het een mooi beeld geeft van de situatie in Myanmar en de boeddhistisch levensfilosofie.

Feb 22 – 24 Driving through the Chin State

The Chin State which is only recently partly opened for foreigners can only be explored mostly with 4 wheel driven cars. We used the Myanmar variant of the old Willy Jeeps of the forties of last century. Crossing through large sand areas, rivers and paths not worth the term roads.


Feb 19 Some Buddha’s in Mandalay

Of course in Myanmar you will find the largest and finest Buddha’s. The intention is to focus at those Buddha’s as they are in their daily life (without the golden leaf layers). Here you will see some of the Buddha’s I shot in Mandalay at a bronze workshop and the socallde Marble Street.
